Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s core game modes are great to play, especially with friends. However, sometimes it’s nice to play something a little different for a change. Here is a list of three mini-games you and your friends can play in custom games.
Michael Myers
Just like the villain from the infamous Halloween series, this mini-game is all about hunting down your buddies. In this game mode, one person is designated the seeker, aka Michael Myers. This person will run around the map trying to find his victims, the hiders. The victims may run and hide, but may not kill or harm Michael Myers. That is until only one hider is left. This person may try and beat Michael at his own game and gets to use a knife of their own. The hiders win by reaching a set time limit or by eliminating Michael Myers, and Michael wins by eliminating all of the hiders before the time limit is reached. All in all this mini-game is just hide and seek in Call of Duty, but it’s still a classic.
Slashers VS Quickscopers
This one is a mini-game of our own creation, and if it isn’t, well, great minds and all that. In this game mode, players will be put into a free-for-all on some smaller map like Nuketown ’86. One person will be chosen at random to be the slasher. The slasher can only use a melee and a smoke grenade to try and stab the quickscopers.
The quickscopers, likewise, can only quickscope using a sniper rifle to kill the slasher. When a slasher kills a quickscoper, the quickscoper becomes the new slasher and the previous slasher can now join the quickscopers in using a sniper. For added difficulty, play on normal health settings and only use a Pellington 703, as hit markers are more common. The player who is the slasher at the end of a designated time frame is considered the loser. If you are playing in large parties, you may want to consider adding an additional slasher.
Invasion
In the invasion mini-game, two teams play a game of domination with the score cap set down to 5, the lowest it can go. The main goal is to invade your opponent’s territory and capture their flag. Capturing your flag or the neutral middle flag is forbidden. This game requires a lot of trust in the enemy team to play by the rules and go out of their way to avoid capturing their flag, which is easier said than done on some maps. Another issue that can be a game-changer for this Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War mini-game is a spawn flip. This game is best played on slightly larger maps where spawn flips are a little more difficult.
Now you have three different mini-games to try in Black Ops Cold War. Try them all out and let us know what you thought!
