LSPDFR is a game-changing mod for Grand Theft Auto V that allows you to take on the role of a first responder, most commonly a law enforcement officer. The base mod is awesome, but the community built around LSPDFR has created a huge amount of plugins. These plugins extend the mod’s functionality and ease of use by a large margin. We have collected our five best LSPDFR plugins that you need to download and install. We recommend installing these on a fresh install of LSPDFR without any other plugins, just so there aren’t any issues with duplication.
LSPDFR Computer+ is one of the best LSPDFR plugins out there. The ability to write a large number of citations for drivers behaving poorly on the road is incredibly immersive. When used in combination with LSPDFR+’s court system, you can see how your citations play out in court. You can also create arrest reports when you arrest the citizens of Los Santos, which adds their case to the court system built into LSPDFR+.
As you may be able to tell already. Having LSPDFR+ is not necessary for the functionality of Computer+, but it does extend the immersion by adding in a court system.
Stop The Ped is a crazy, next-level, plugin and one of the best LSPDFR plugins available right now. Along with its dependencies, Ultimate Backup and Compulite, the mod becomes infinitely more immersive. Stop The Ped does a lot of what other LSPDFR plugins do, but better and with less individual plugins. You can say goodbye to Smart Radio, Traffic Policer, and Arrest Manager. This plugin does the job of all three with a better, simpler interface.
Stop The Ped Features
Stop The Ped has a crazy amount of features that can be accessed when cruising, during a traffic stop, or on foot through the context menu. When behind vehicles while cruising, the menu allows you to run vehicle checks which give you information about the vehicle’s document status and any flags on the registered owner. When you pull someone over you can also choose to slow down or completely stop traffic in the area surrounding the traffic stop.
When you’re interacting with a vehicle’s driver, you can use the Stop The Ped context menu to ask for all of the documentation, such as the driver’s license, insurance, and registration. You can question the driver, run a breathalyzer or drug swab, or ask them to leave the vehicle.
Once they’re out of the vehicle, you can double-tap the E button by default to stop the ped. From here you can perform a search of their person, run an alcohol or drug test, ask more questions, or even arrest them.
Using the context menu on a vehicle allows you to search the vehicle.
Using it on an injured citizen or officer allows you to call EMS or tend to them yourself, or if it’s too late call a coroner.
Ultimate Backup is one of the dependencies for Stop The Ped, one of the best LSPDFR plugins. This plugin allows you to more easily call for backup among other things. When you first stop a vehicle, you can call for a backup for your traffic stop.
You can call for a code 3 response from local units if you get into trouble. This includes EMS and firefighters. Heck, you can even call in an aerial ambulance if you’re far from accessible roads.
During a pursuit, however, is when the plugin really shines. You can easily call for backup, either vehicles or helicopters, as well as deploy spike strips or roadblocks.
You can even call for an AI partner to join you on your patrol. The Ultimate Backup menu allows you to control a lot of things about the partner including their behavior including weapons selection.
Emergency Uniforms Pack, One Of The Best LSPDFR Plugins
Emergency Uniforms Pack, or EUP, is a great mod and for sure one of the best LSPDFR plugins around. It allows for a lot of character outfit customization. It’s all very lore-friendly as well, meaning you can easily RP as an in-universe character.
Emergency Uniforms Pack Menu is the first of three plugins you need to have in order for EUP to maximize its potential. The menu has a simple drag and drop install into your GTA V directory. In-game, hitting F11 by default opens up the menu. In this menu, you can create your own character outfit or choose from premade ones provided by the next two plugins.
EUP Law & Order allows you to better play as a law enforcement officer on the streets and highways of Los Santos. The plugin adds a bunch of outfits for every branch of law enforcement in the game. With plenty of outfits to choose from for each branch, you’re bound to find one you love. Installing EUP Law & Order is a little different than the other plugins here. It is an oiv file. To install it, open up Open IV and go to Tools, then select package installers. Next, go to the directory your file is in and open it. Install it to your mods folder and you’re almost done.
EUP Serve & Rescue is very similar to Law & Order, except the outfits are for non-LEO agencies. That means you can go out as a firefighter or EMT. The download and install are the same as it is for EUP Law & Order, so just follow the simple instructions above to get started.
LSPDFR+ doesn’t add a crazy amount of must-have features to the base mod, but it does add a court system. A court system alone may not seem like one of the best LSPDFR plugins, but it adds a lot of immersion to an already immersive mod. The courts behave much like regular courts, sentencing people with the context in mind, dismissing cases where the evidence doesn’t hold up. This means you can’t just go around sentencing everyone to whatever you wish on a whim. Plus it’s fun to look up old cases to see just how harsh or lenient the judge was when handing out punishments.
The Emergency Lighting System, or ELS, plugin is absolutely one of the best LSPDFR plugins available for the mod. It adds the ability to better control lights and sirens for vehicles. This plugin gets a little more involved in its installation, but it’s still a great mod. You have three different light settings to choose from that allow you to choose the best configuration for the situation. There are even ways to change the light pattern to match your preferences.
Script Hook V, Required By The Best LSPDFR Plugins
Script Hook V is a library that allows a lot of the best LSPDFR plugins to work. Installing it is as easy as downloading the file from their site and dragging the ScriptHookV.dll into your GTA V directory.
Installing an ELS Enabled Vehicle
The installation process for installing and ELS enabled vehicle requires the use of a program called Open IV. Once you’ve downloaded and installed Open IV, run it and select the windows edition of GTA V and follow the directions. Next, go to tools and select ASI Manager. Install the ASI loader and OpenIV.asi. In file explorer, create a mods folder in your GTA V directory and copy the update and x64 folders into it. This may take some time.
Download an ELS enabled vehicle from the LSPDFR website here. Open the file with WinRAR or 7Zip and launch Open IV navigate to mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\ and select the latest patchday which will be the patchday with the largest number. Then you will want to open the dlc.rpf and go to x64\levels\gta5\ and open the vehicles.rpf file. Drag your vehicle’s .ytd and both .yft files into it.
Next, go to your GTA V directory in file explorer and open the ELS folder from when you installed the mod. Now open the pack_default folder and copy the XML file for your vehicle in it, replacing a file if there is one already with the same name.
That is it, you should be ready to go try out your new vehicle!
Getting Brighter Lights
If you are like me, you’ll find the lights to be very dull when using vanilla ELS. By modifying two lines in a file, we can change that. Launch Open IV and activate edit mode. Navigate to mods\update\update.rpf\common\data and right-click vehiclesettings.dat and select edit. Hit ctrl+f to search and type car.defaultlight. Change the value of car.defaultlight.day.emissive.on to 6000.00, and the value of car.defaultlight.night.emissive.on to 1500.00. Then click save. You should be good to go with your new super bright lights!
